Heerwa village is situated under Tehsil – Buhana of district Jhunjhunu of the state of Rajasthan in India. Chirawa is the nearby town, it is 9 KM North West of village Heerwa. The total population of Heerwa is approx. 4300, primarily consisting Rajputs, Meghwals, Prajapats, Brahmins, Mishras, Yadavs, Muslims followed by other major socio-religious groups. Only Jat families are residing in the hamlets (Dhanis) but not in the main village limits.
The village was a Shekhawat Rajput Thikana under Khetri riyasat of erstwhile Rajputana agency. Heerwa was awarded to Thakur Pahad Singh who built the fort in year 1763 AD. At present, only ruins are left of that magnificent Gadh once located in centre of the village.
Heerwa was selected as an Ideal village (Adarsh Gaon) by the state government, thus facilities like Govt. School, Govt. Hospital, Veterinary Hospital are available in the village. Heerwa is directly connected to Chirawa and Khetri by road. The nearest Railway Station is Chirawa.

The current elected Sarpanch of Gram-Panchayat is Smt. Sapna Devi W/o Sh. Maniram. The village falls under Surajgarh assembly constituency, the current MLA is Sh. Sharwan Kumar (INC). The current Member of Parliament representing Jhunjhunu constituency is Sh. Brijendra Singh Ola (INC).
